The Houses

Casa da Égua

This is where the brownish-red mare was kept at night. She was used to help with farming tasks, as there were no machines on the farm. The owner always preferred mares because he said they were more docile animals and, as such, easier to work the land and transport milk jugs from the cows.

The entrepreneurs were keen to preserve some details on the outside of the building, such as an iron ring at the door, which was used to tie up the mare while the owner loaded and/or unloaded. These details allow guests to imagine what the space was like in the past and the tasks that were typically carried out here.

This house is located on the first floor and consists of a double bedroom with a balcony, a living room overlooking the blue lagoon with a wood-burning stove that provides heat for the bedroom, a kitchen equipped with a dining area, and a full bathroom with a shower.

For the entertainment of its guests, and free of charge, Casa da Égua offers Wi-Fi, cable TV, board games, access to the garden and adjacent areas of the house, and private parking.
